CPR Online Learning Platform

The CPR* (Community Partnership Resources) Online Learning Platform is an e-learning hub for health professionals assembled by MSMGF. It offers continuing education opportunities for all health professionals including healthcare providers and community and government clinic workers, NGOs and CBOs, and other health sector stakeholders to ensure that sexual health programs for MSM are aligned with WHO-endorsed global standards for health services. This includes a major focus on interventions across the full HIV services continuum, including prevention, treatment, care and support.

The first set of CPR materials are based on the UN guidance document, MSM Implementation Toolkit or MSMIT. The 236-page guidance itself was led by a group of global agencies, including UNFPA, UNDP, WHO, Gates Foundation, USAID and MSMGF.

CPR is delivered in the form of free Youtube videos and downloadable e-books. It aims to serve as the most comprehensive resource for health professionals serving gay and bisexual men worldwide. In the coming weeks, CPR will release several hours’ worth of review content intended for consumption over several days or weeks. The modular nature of CPR will allow learners to direct their own learning based on their interests or needs.

*The acronym CPR, a life-saving technique useful in many emergencies, is used here as a metaphor. It signals the urgency with which we must act to revive the health system and take immediate measures to enhance the health and rights of gay and bisexual men worldwide. Specialized training among health professionals is required so that they can serve the unique needs of gay and bisexual men competently and without judgment. The creation of an e-learning platform that consolidates important source information and opportunities for continuing education will allow for scaled-up training and sensitization of healthcare professionals.
