This Global Fund Eligibility list details the eligibility of individual countries for renewal of funding for existing grants in 2012. It is based on three criteria that determine country eligibility: income level (all applicants); belonging to G20 group of countries and disease burden (for G20 Upper-Middle Income countries only).
This list establishes whether each country is eligible to submit a request for continued funding for each component (HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and HSS).
This list should be read in conjunction with the notes that appear following the table. Please also refer to the information note on Eligibility, Counterpart Financing and Prioritization
policy for more information (http://www.theglobalfund.org/documents/rounds/11/R11_ECFP_InfoNote_en/). Please contact relevant Fund Portfolio Managers for any questions.
The eligibility list for 2012 funding renewal reflects the following:
• Updated income level and disease burden: in particular, the income level data is the World Bank data as published on 1 July 2011; updated disease burden data as of December 2011
was provided by technical partners (UNAIDS and WHO);
• G20 upper-middle income countries with less than an extreme disease burden are not eligible to submit a request for continued funding as per the Board decision but can request up to
one-year transition funding with a ceiling of one-third of the original renewal amount for Renewals scheduled through the end of 2012.
