Ugandan lawmaker David Bahati says he is confident his bill, which would jail or impose capital punishment on gay people, will be enacted soon, CNN reports.
Despite international pressure to drop the legislation, Bahati said, "Every single day of my life now I am still pushing that it passes."
His statement comes after the Rolling Stone newspaper in Uganda published a list of known gays, causing personal attacks on many of those listed, including Stosh Mugisha. A crowd gathered at her house, started chanting "homosexual" and throwing stones.
