Abstract

Concurrent shigellosis and cryptosporidiosis outbreaks occurred among men who have sex with men, 75% of whom were HIV-infected. Current HIV/AIDS treatment as prevention strategy may decrease HIV transmission, but raises concerns about other diseases if safer sex messages are de-emphasized.
