Statement of Action on the Decriminalisation of Same Sex Conduct in the Commonwealth: Open for Signatures!

Published: September 13, 2011

Dear All

Thank you so much for your inputs into the Statement of Action of Decriminalisation of Same Sex Conduct both at the meeting and afterwards. All of the suggestions have been incorporated and the final statement is attached and open for signatures.

There is a space at the top for institutional logos and names. Please either provide me with you logo or send back a copy of the statement with a logo or name added. After we have gathered in all signatures I will make the final draft into a PDF. If you could send it back to me by Monday 19th of September.

Please circulate this as widely as possible to anyone that is interested in signing and please feel free to display the statement on any website with my email. The aim is to get a wide range of support for the basic principles outlined in the statement which restate the obligations of the Commonwealth Secretariat and Commonwealth member states in the promotion of LGBT rights and support for the repeal of laws that criminalise same sex conduct.  After the 19th of September this will be disseminated very widely and will be made available in hard copy at CHOGM and the Peoples Forum as well.

As such  the more signatures and organisation logos we can affix to this statement in support  of its message the better and please do forward this to anyone that you think might be interested.

Best Wishes

Fred
