Moscow police dispersed Coming Out Day picket, activists detained

On October 12, a sanctioned picket in Moscow dedicated to the International Coming Out Day, October 11, was dispersed by Moscow police near Sokolniki metro station due to “inconsistency with declared goals”. Seven activists are reported to be detained for “disobedience”.

In 10-15 minutes after the start of the picket police patrol arrived and after checking the documents of the protesters said that the real purpose of the picket did not match a declared one. After protracted argument, the protesters agreed to halt the picket and removed all the posters. But a newly arrived partol began to detain activists, OVD Info reports.
