Men who Have Sex With Men and Women in Bangalore, South India, and Potential Impact on the HIV Epidemic

The study’s objectives were to quantify differences in patterns of sexual behavior among men who have sex with men and women (MSMW), compared to men who have sex with men only (MSMO), and to assess the extent to which bisexual behavior could serve as a bridge for HIV transmission into the general population.

In 2006 in Bangalore, a cross-sectional survey sampled men seeking sex with men in public places and hammams (bath houses where transgender persons sell sex to men).
