Impunity and Violence against Transgender Women Human Rights Defenders in Latin America

This report analyses the testimonies of transgender women human rights defenders and HIV activists in different Latin American countries, with a particular focus on Guatemala and Honduras.

The transgender population is the most affected by the HIV epidemic Latin America, with a prevalence rate of 35%. To put an end to the epidemic, it is essential to ensure the fulfilment of human rights as well as access to health services that respect gender identity.
