IAC: HPV Vaccine Effective in Men

VIENNA — A quadrivalent vaccine against four strains of human papillomavirus was highly effective at reducing external genital lesions in men, a researcher said here.

… Among the men who have sex with men, those in the vaccine arm had five cases of anal intraepithelial neoplasia related to the four strains, compared with 24 in the placebo arm, for an efficacy rate of 77.5%. There were no cases of anal cancer.
