Guyana keeps gay sex ban, opposes discrimination

The government of the South American nation of Guyana said that it opposes both anti-gay discrimination and advocacy of gay "lifestyles", last week.

Gay activists called the statement inadequate and said that if the government wanted to lessen anti-gay discrimination, it should repeal laws that ban gay sex and cross-dressing.
