Gay Activists file curative petition in Supreme Court

 Gay activists and Naz Foundation have moved the Supreme Court with a curative petition seeking to cure teh defects in the judement upholding the validity of Section 377 IPC insofar as it recriminalises homosexuality between two consentig adults on the ground there there was no constitutional infirmity in this provision.

The Delhi High Court had held that Section 377, insofar as it criminalised consensual sexual acts of adults in private, violated Articles 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution and the apex court by its judgment dated December 11, 2013 set aside this ruling and upheld the validity of this section. On January 28 the apex court dismissd a batch of review petitions challenging the judgment.
