First UK prosecution for inciting homophobia

British prosecutors say two men are appearing at court to face the first prosecution for stirring up hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation.

Razwan Javed, 30, and Kabir Ahmed, 27, are alleged to have distributed a leaflet calling for homosexuals to be executed outside a mosque in the central England city of Derby, about 130 miles (210km) north of London. Prosecutors say the men handed out the leaflet in July 2010.
