EduPares II: consolidación y mejora de estrategias de educación de pares para prevenir el VIH y las ITS entre hombres gay y otros hombres que tienen sexo con hombres
Background: In 2006 Colectivo Sol A.C. developed "EduPares" an initiative to train peer educators on HIV / AIDS aimed at gay men and other men who have sex with men. Based on methodologies developed by FHI and UNFPA and ColSol, the initiative was able to train a core of educators pairs of NGOs / CBOs working with gay men and other MSM, (as) employees of health, sex workers and people who work in HIV prevention in 6 states.
A) Conducting a training workshop, which will give them skills to design training programmes for peer educators and with vulnerable populations;
B) The compilation and adjustment of a new package of 12 practical tools to facilitate and promote communication for behavioural change in meetings with small groups;
C) One workshop materials IEC / CCC Peer Educators for 2 Days
D) Collect and adapt tools for the design of IEC materials to promote the CCC.
E) Documentation for monitoring and evaluation (M & E) peer education programs
Results: Partners Empowered in the design and production of materials for the prevention focused with an emphasis on the production of materials virtual.
Conclusions: Colectivo Sol is integrating a network of organizations that are working to integrate their programs The system of peer education. The project includes a strong element of monitoring and evaluation, and the partner organizations will be accompanied throughout the process of validation of their products aimed at preventing their target populations.
