Community Update for MSM Advocates

The Global Fund’s New Funding Model
Decisions at the November 2013 Board Meeting!

Dear all,

The Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (GFATM) held its most recent meeting earlier this month. Several important decisions were under discussion at the meeting, many of which impact advocates and service providers working with key populations, including men who have sex with men (MSM).

The Global Forum on MSM & HIV (MSMGF) has outlined these key decisions and discussions in our most recent community update. In particular, the community update includes information concerning:
  • New eligibility requirements for funding
  • Implications of new eligibility requirements for MSM
  • Timeline for rollout of the New Funding Model (NFM)
  • Which countries are able to apply during which phase of NFM rollout
  • Next steps for advocacy
You can find the community update on the MSMGF’s website in English here. Additional versions are available in Spanish and French

Any questions can be directed to MSMGF Senior Policy Advisor Nadia Rafif (nrafif@msmgf.org) or MSMGF Director of Policy Noah Metheny (nmetheny@msmgf.org).

Kind regards,

The MSMGF
