Brazil: Soldier Are Held in Gay Attack

The army is holding two soldiers in connection with the shooting of a young gay man after Rio de Janeiro’s pride parade. An army statement said Thursday that one of the suspects acknowledged shooting the man, Douglas Igor Marqués Luiz, on Sunday. Mr. Luiz, 19, a student, has since been released from the hospital. The two sergeants were arrested Thursday and will be questioned by the police. The army initially denied any involvement.
