AIDS Prevention to Focus on Gay Men

This year’s HIV/AIDS prevention program will focus on raising awareness among homosexual men and the partners of high-risk populations that have been poorly covered by previous programs, an official said on Wednesday.

“In 2009, we only managed to reach a very small number of men having sex with men, even though unprotected sex has contributed the largest proportion of HIV/AIDS infections in Indonesia,” Nafsiah Mboi, the secretary of the National AIDS Commission (KPA), told a news conference.
