The South African Marang Men’s Project by LC Simbayi, T Rehle, P Naidoo and L Townsend is the result of a study of men who have sex with men in three cities in South Africa. The study aimed to fill in the dearth of surveillance data on the prevalence of HIV and associated risk behaviours among men who have sex with men.

Some of the key findings of the research were presented at the launch of the book. The findings are illuminating and valuable as they make it possible to plan and implement effective interventions.
