MSM Pre-Conference

Men who have sex with men (MSM) are 19 times more likely to be infected with HIV than the general population in low- and middle-income countries worldwide. Despite this fact, fewer than one in twenty MSM has access to the prevention, care, and treatment services they need. These disparities, fueled in part by persistent silence and human rights abuses, have constituted a devastating crisis among MSM across the globe.

In response, the Global Forum on MSM and HIV (MSMGF) holds an international MSM Pre-Conference Event to address these and other issues concerning MSM and HIV worldwide before every International AIDS Conference. The event brings together activists, researchers, and service-providers from all over the world to share local experiences and develop collaborative strategies for confronting the unique health challenges facing our diverse communities.

Attendees are invited to present posters of their work, attend plenary sessions, and participate in a wide variety of workshops. Following the MSM Pre-Conference, the MSMGF organizes additional workshop sessions and networking activities designed specifically for MSM throughout the week of the International AIDS Conference.
